Horror Movie Slashers that Inspire My Anti-protagonist's Supernatural Characteristics

 The Anti-protagonist of my story, Althea, has a dark background. A background of being bullied and committing as a result of that. She haunts Lauderhill 6-12, as she takes territory here waiting for her chance of revenge on those who hurt her, this makes her have supernatural characteristics. Slashers such as Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger, and Chucky possess supernatural characters:


Jason Voorhees drowned at the age 11 and believed to have come back to avenge his mother at crystal lake, but he was alive and witnessed his mother's death. He and Althea have some similarities, as Jason wants to avenge his mother and Althea want to get revenge on those who caused her to commit. However, in my film Althea is a ghost that haunts a school and in Friday the 13th Voorhees never actually passed.

Next is Freddy Krueger:

Freddy has a similar rhythm of revenge, as he burned alive in a building, but his spirit was still alive. He stalks teenagers living on elm street who remember him by hindering their dreams as a form of tormenting. Althea is similar in the supernatural aspect of her spirit still being alive and on earth, along with the hatred she holds, and she hunts the teens that bullied her. But, Freddy only torments people in their dreams, and Althea can do more than just haunt dreams.

Chucky is last but not least:

Chucky isn't a doll, but a human since the soul of Charles was transferred into the doll using voodoo. Charles was a psychopath that was bleeding out after getting gunned down, and he quickly transferred his soul to the good guy doll. Chucky was conjured by voodoo, and Althea is just a spirit on earth.

These were just a few slashers that have supernatural characteristics and backstories that relate to my character Althea. In my next blog I'll be talking about the knowledge I acquired from watching more studio binder videos.

New Studio Binder Discovery: Varieties of Camera Angles

 I haven't been posting much, but that's because my Spring Break was busy. Despite the business, I decided to watch a Studio binder video to keep me up to date and maybe learn some new things, and upon searching I found some information on camera angles from this video: Some camera angles that appeared in the video such as High angle and Low angle I already know of. Scene 1 of Althea: Outside Darien's House/ Izel in her Room

 So, on the 5th of April, I film the scene of Izel in her room talking to Darien on the phone. Even though the script only says Darien is outside as it says here:   I forgot to add it in the script that Izel was in her room as well. But when me and my partner Mack Lafrance were filming that scene for the first time, we had fun because we kept making jokes about the script and after that everything suddenly became fun and funny.  The first scene camera shots: 1. Darien was at a Full Shot for most of the scene and move toward the camera into a medium shot. 2. Izel was at Medium Shot, but during the film the camera will transition to a Over the Shoulder Shot. Overall, so far, it's going well we just have 2 or 3 more scenes to go, and hopefully it goes well.  In my next blog I will talk about how I filmed Darien's part and how I had to switch characters in my film.

Script Annotations for the day of filming

 So for the day of filming I made foreshadowing insinuations on Izel's passing: In scene one , an insinuation is made as Izel says "nothing can go wrong", hinting at the fact that something could go wrong. And she also says in Scene 1, "We're not going to die". Notice how Izel is the only one mentioning things about death and the "fact" that nothing can go wrong. In scene two , Izel makes another insinuation about escaping, as she says "Simple, If we get caught, we make a run for it and hide." Darien asked her the question: What do we do if we get caught?, and it shows that the way she answered she's not going to make it out of the school with Darien alive.
