Soundtracks in Horror-Why Is It Important

 Hey guys! Today I'm going to be explaining why soundtracks are important in movies, but first, what is  Soundtrack : Musical accompaniment in a movie that's already pre-recorded. Why are soundtracks important in Horror Movies? Firstly, outstanding horror movies rely heavily on a suspenseful soundtrack. For example, if the film "Halloween" didn't have that sinister soundtrack: the slasher Michael Myers would just be a man in a mask. An effective horror soundtrack heightens the terror in a scene exponentially, maybe even scaring the audience before something visually scares them. Soundtracks in horror really set the tone for the audience and the director, and "The Omen" soundtrack is a good example: As Damien is the King of the underworld in the film, it's a perfect fit for him. Music has a powerful ability to create a distinctive atmosphere in the film, and they help to direct the audience's emotions throughout the narrative. Another good example...

 Horror is a genre that is intended to shock, scare and/or thrill its audience. In different ways, Horror can be interpreted, but there is always a villain, monster, or threat that is often a reflection of the fears society experiences. Some elements of the horror genre Themes - Horror reflects the culture and what it fears at the time (invasion, folklore, etc.) Character Types - Monster, Killer, or slasher, although sub-genres contain certain hero archetypes Setting - Horror can take place in the past or present, and can have many settings like a gothic castle, haunted house, etc. Music - can be used to build suspense and the atmosphere  The appeal of horror narrative in literature, film, and theatre lies in the pleasures it associates with fear, suspense, and terror; no matter what is being conveyed to the audience.  Hi! I am Kayla Senior, I am a student at Lauderhill 6-12 and I am currently taking a Cambridge course(s) known as Media Studies. I like to play video games, Read books, listen to music, watch movies, relax, and workout. I  am 5'6 in the 10 grade working on a movie for my Media Studies class called "Althea". Althea The movie "Althea" that me and my partner Mack Lafrance are making is about a girl named Althea who committed because she was bullied in high school. Later, two kids who were her former classmates in 10th grade, Darien and Izel now in the sophomore year in college(As Journalists), are doing a news report on the incident as to why the school shut down.
